The Pastors Pen……..
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
It does not take a very long time to be active in the ministry to see that there is a lot more labor than some might think. I want to encourage you with this Pastors Pen with a simply but very profound lesson I learned helping my great uncle on the farm as a younger boy. He taught me this; Sink your plow deep, run your row straight, and run the row all the way to the end of the field.
Saints of GOD we need to,(1) Sink our hearts deep in the Word of GOD,(2) Walk the Straight and narrow, and (3)Determine to finish our coarse all the way. I want you to know that I understand difficulty, but in the words of the old song writer Esther Kerr Rusthoi;
It Will Be Worth It All, When We See Jesus. It Will Be Worth It All, When we see Christ.
Plow The Row
A preacher watched a framer as he planted his field. He saw it grow and he saw the yield.
Amazed at what he saw as one single man worked very hard with a sure fire plan.
So he went to the church to work hard, not play. He saw nothing happen by night or by day.
So the preacher came back to the farmer’s big field, to watch him work hard, to plant and to till.
He saw the old farmer sink the plow so complete, all the way down in the dirt, very deep.
He watched the old farmer run the row very straight, never to waver, never to stray.
Then one other lesson the farmer did lend. The farmer ran his row all the way to the end.
Then back to the church in an altar of prayer, he talked with God who met him right there.
He said I’ve learned a lesson from the farmer today; I must plow my row deep, plow straight, and plow home all the way.
